The Mutual Value Measurement Framework© was developed by a team of accounting researchers drawn from the Departments of Accounting at Monash Business School, Australian National University and Warwick Business School, UK.

The research study was carried out between 2018/19 and involved collecting data from around 260 stakeholders across 13 co-operative and mutuals, observations of meetings and review of archival documents.
